A close German friend asked us if we were making a special beer for the Cricket World Cup 2019 and while we had no plans to do so, in a sudden burst of inspiration, we brewed Hat Trick, our cricket inspired ale.

Just as this current 2019 World Cup could be the third win for India, the beer has the best of 3 countries brewed into it. German style hefeweizen made with Indian malts and layered with hops typical of English ales. This troika makes for a refreshing, and very flavourful beer.

Our friend Priti Gokani, who made the art for this beer had the following to say: “Countries coming together, passions ebb and flow, people from all over the world together once every four years, high energy! Victory, cheers, momentum, fervour… this spectrum of emotions were the inspiration that brought about the creation of this painting, custom made for the special cricket inspired brew. Gateway’s passion about creating every brew matches the kind of passion that an event like the World Cup brings out. The art involved in their craft is contagious, and inspired the artist in me to paint passionate bold colours with tremendous joy.”
